What Batam's Free Trade Zone status actually means for you
Batam is a designated Free Trade Zone (FTZ) — goods can move in and out without the same import duties and taxes that apply elsewhere in Indonesia. In practice, that means sourcing and consolidating through Batam can lower the landed cost of what you buy compared to routing through a standard customs territory. We factor this into the landed cost estimate shown on every product page, rather than leaving you to work it out yourself.
